I appreciate the careful packing of forsythia. They arrived in damp shredded paper and plastic bag. In my error, I mistakenly read on their website the quantity which I was ordering. I thought the (10) meant the number of roots per bundle at one super low price of $6.99, and that I was ordering 10 bundles at $6.99 per bundle of (10).
Hahahahahahaha. I was wrong to think that.
Shrubs were bigger than I thought!
The plants arrived. I was confused about how many I would receive. I saw the number 2 and assumed I was receiving more than 4 plants. I thought each order was 5 plants and I ordered 2 sets.
Planted and ready to watch these grow and bloom
As noted in the email I (Carol's husband) sent the day the planting stock arrive, the Forsythia seedlings were much larger than I expected, well packed, and definitely ready to grow. The seedlings arrived in-leaf and I had to plant them under full sun with record breaking afternoon temperatures. I had too many to make shade covers and hoped for the best. After several weeks most have some to most of their leaves. I am not too concerned about the loss of leaves because most of the seedlings need to establish new roots before they can provide water to a large number of leaves. I believe the seedlings that lost all their leaves will re-flush if I keep watering them. On the positive side, the rabbits are ignoring the Forsythia and going after the other shrubs in the flowering hedge I am trying to create around our property.
