Why Plant in the Spring?

Everyone anticipates the arrival of spring, so it seems like the perfect time for planting. Don't get us wrong, we love fall planting, but spring offers plenty of reasons to roll up your sleeves and break out the shovel.

Planting in spring allows the plants to grow for several months while establishing hardy roots for winter.

Spring planting produces seeds and ensures beautiful foliage for fall.

Nurseries and retailers typically have a larger selection during the spring, and let's face it, some species tend to adapt better to spring planting.

And did we mention spring rains? Who doesn't love free water?

The below graph is just an estimated guide, but can be helpful when preparing to plant for spring.
