Black Walnut Tree
So i am going to surprise you and say none of my trees survived and i am really sad. Well, actually pretty annoyed with myself. Got it in my head that i was going to try and grow trees to plant in the spring in my house and did a less than steller job taking care of them. They all popped buds very quick for me and that was great but my rooting contraption was doing double duty as a science project and unintentionally the science experiment took a path of testing ability to handle gross neglect. In any case, they all made a bunch of leaves and seemed to be doing gang-busters but were less then please with my failure to keep water levels consistent and water quality decent. My fault, i'd strongly recommend. The plants came with solid root structure/ball and were all longer then the requested length. I'll keep my eye on these and if i can get some coin in my budget i'll definitely pick up some more.
I bought several trees to see if they would take in my area. I have slightly rocky, clay soil, but it drains well most of the year. Was very happy to see they took off like a rocket and have been growing at a steady pace ever since. They were a perfect size - about 2.5-3 ft tall.
Well packaged.Trees x 3 arrived bare root. The branches were all intact. One was budding at the top. I soaked it in water with super thrive solution and repotted . The1 tree with the bud continue to sprout. Keeping my fingers crossed on my other 2 . I know, however, that they're alive because it is green beneath the bark. Keeping them all shaded .
Very good prices and quality trees
Very much appreciate the brochure with instructions for planting and answers to frequently asked questions. Looking forward to spring growth. Thsnks
